How we make money

In one sentence: some of our outbound links are affiliate links, meaning the travel provider pays us a commission out of their own marketing budget if you book after clicking one — and you pay exactly the same price either way.
Why you can check this rather than take our word for it
We never take your payment. There is no cart, no checkout and no booking fee on this site — you always finish on the operator's own site, at the price they publish to everyone. We have no mechanism to charge you more, because we do not charge you at all.
Who actually pays us
The traveller pays the operator the normal price. The operator or booking provider pays an affiliate network. The network pays us. You are not in that chain.
Being straight about the current state of it, because "we may earn a commission" is often doing a lot of work on sites like this:

Most links on this site currently earn us nothing at all. We publish them because they are the right answer to the question, not because they pay. As that changes, this table changes with it.
What we do so the money does not bend the advice
- Ranking is never sold. Nobody can pay to appear, to rank higher, or to be called our pick. Order follows price, duration or usefulness — whatever the page says it is sorting by.
- We name the unpaid option too. Where the best answer is a provider who pays us nothing — an airline's own website, a transit agency, a government page, booking direct — we say so and link it, right next to the paid one.
- We tell you when something is bad. Our comparisons include throttling, hidden conditions and traps we found while testing. Anything that reads as pure salesmanship is a failure of the page.
- Affiliate links are marked in the page code as
sponsored, the standard tag search engines expect. - No paid reviews, no fabricated testimonials, no invented prices. Prices in our guides are dated and were actually observed.
The honest incentive
Ticket commissions are small — a train or bus booking might pay us a dollar or two. So the temptation on a site like this is to push whatever pays best rather than whatever gets you there. Our defence against that is boring and structural: we are paid the same whether you take our advice or ignore it, and a reader who finds the advice wrong does not come back. Accuracy is the product; the commission is a by-product.
Regulatory note
Canada's Competition Act requires that a material connection between a reviewer and a business be disclosed clearly and prominently, not buried. That is why every page carrying a monetised link also carries a short disclosure next to the link itself, rather than relying on this page alone. If you ever find a paid link on this site without one, please tell us and we will fix it.
