India's capital and the pink city of Jaipur make a classic first trip — Mughal monuments, Rajput forts and some of the best food anywhere. The Delhi–Jaipur leg is best by train.

The Delhi Metro is excellent and cheap; use app cabs (Uber/Ola) for door-to-door. In Jaipur, autos and app cabs cover the old city.
